“Two Sues” Travel Experience through Travel with Me – Canada and USA – Aug 15

Meeting  and making friends through Travel with Me – is a wonderful way to get to travel the world – and you don’t  have to travel alone. Important though is to factor in several cake and coffee meetings !
Sue J and Sue W met at an information evening held by Annette – we both had the same idea of travelling to Canada and USA.   We gathered more information over many coffee sessions and with Annette’s help put together the most wonderful Itinerary.  We were away two months and are still talking and having coffee !   Our adventure included the following;
Starting at Los Angeles – then San Diego, Grand Canyon (Mind blowing!) Zion National Park, Las Vegas (which was a blast!) Yosemite National Park, San Francisco, Monterey (loved the Otter’s and Forrest Gump Restaurant!).  Finished in Los Angeles.

Two days in Vancouver – beautiful city,  We were then joined by four other girls from Perth.  So a group of six hopped on the Rocky Mountaineer  for 2 days – just wonderful. Then off to Jasper –where we walked on the Athabasca Glacier – so much fun. Then Lake Louise, Banff – Lake Louise is exactly like the brochures, so beautiful.  Then Whistler – We caught  a Float plane from Whistler to Victoria- wonderful experience. Victoria is so beautiful – Butchart Gardens for our farewell dinner was marvellous. We then boarded ms Zuiderdam for our cruise up the Inside Passage.  Scenery magnificent, called in to Juneau, Skagway,  and the ship stopped for an hour in Glacier Bay where we could almost touch the magnificent Margerie Glacier.

Sailed on to Ketchikan – saw our first black bears ! It was fun having others from Perth on this cruise – great fun at mealtimes, relaxing in the Lounge trying not to eat everything in the Buffet! and in the evenings at the various shows on the Boat.  Disembarked in Vancouver where Sue and I had a couple of days to explore, then flew to Boston to commence Tour 3.
Commenced tour in Boston,  a great historic town – then on to Quebec,  then Montreal.  Then to Ottawa, Toronto – where we  visited Canadian Mounted Police.  We were lucky because the tour group was given a guided tour through the Stables.

You have got to visit  Niagara Falls! This was the most wonderful experience – We dressed for the occasion in pink plastic  statement ponchos! Now that’s was a fashion statement, however, we still got wet and it was so much fun – the experience of being almost under the falls was just amazing.
We were privileged to use the computer and “light up the Falls” – seriously we pick our own colours and watched the Falls Light Up”

Lancaster was our next stop,  Amish country for a typical Amish evening meal with an Amish Family.  The following morning we  visited their Family Farm – quilts, horses and buggies and wonderful hospitality.   Then on to Washington DC  and the White House.   Finally to Philadelphia and on to New York where our Tour finished.
Sue and I then spent  4 days in New York on our own – having a great time on the hop-on, hop-off bus, exploring Central Park, shops, seeing a Broadway Show.  We then flew to Hong Kong for 2 days before flying back to Perth.  Less jetlag !
We experienced so much – saw so much and luckily took heaps of photos and kept a daily diary of our adventures. A trip never to be forgotten, now ticked off the bucket-list!   If anyone would like to know more, contact Sue Jones through Travel with Me
