This epic eight-day adventure will take passengers from Darwin to Adelaide, with stops in Katherine, Alice Springs and Coober Pedy. Along the way, you will soak up stunning views of the Red Center and enjoy unique experiences in each destination.
The Travel with Me team has curated an exclusive itinerary for its Ghan Expedition guests – from guided tours and an overnight stay in Kakadu to a Darwin Harbour dinner cruise before boarding the Ghan for your 4 day adventure to Adelaide.. Passengers will also be treated to outstanding meals prepared by onboard chefs, offering authentic tastes of Australia’s finest produce.
The train trip takes passengers through the heart of Australia, from Darwin in the north to Adelaide in the south. Along this 3000km route, there are stops at Katherine, Alice Springs, and Coober Pedy where you can explore local attractions and sights as you go. With experienced guides onboard to explain various points of interest along the way and modern amenities such as Wi-Fi internet connection, it’s easy to see why so many people choose this spectacular overland journey each year.

Back due to popular demand, an exclusive allocation on the Ghan Expedition, one of the world’s greatest Train Journeys, for September 2025. We were super excited when our group request was approved once again, for 2025. We are feeling extremely lucky these days.
This is most definitely a bucket list item that Aussies are now bringing forward due to the current traveling environment, so we expect this to book out quite quickly.
Our journey will start with a short stay in Darwin including a 2 day/1 night Kakadu Adventure before transferring to the rail passenger terminal and boarding the Ghan for the 4 day spectacular journey to Adelaide in Gold Service cabins. On arriving into Adelaide you will be transferred to the airport or you may wish to take up our optional short stay in Adelaide, details to be confirmed. (Own arrangements to Darwin and from Adelaide, we can help with booking your flights)
Our departure in September 2025 will also include a spectacular sunset dinner cruise on Darwin Harbour and an overnight Kakadu Adventure.
