In a positive sign of business confidence for Mandurah, a major CBD company has changed hands. Travel agency Helloworld Mandurah Central has been purchased by Mandurah Travel & Cruise this month and will continue to trade under the business name Mandurah Travel & Cruise at 3/12 Sutton Street.
Mandurah Travel & Cruise managing director, Annette Porter, said the acquisition of the business represented a timely investment.
“Right now, the baby boomers born 1946-1954 represent the strongest segment of travellers globally. Here in Mandurah, that demographic forms our key clientele. Our customers like to know their travel consultant personally; they enjoy visiting our premises and sitting down one-on-one to plan their holidays. With the purchase of Helloworld Mandurah Central, our staff will now total six highly experienced travel professionals – plus our very important mascot; Bosley!” said Annette Porter.
“In one way, we are moving from Mandurah Terrace to Sutton Street, but at another level this represents a major purchase and investment in the future for our growing travel agency. Acquiring new clients who are current and future travellers is a logical and timely step for us.”
Mandurah Travel & Cruise incorporates the popular solo travellers club, Travel with Me, which sees Annette and her staff frequently guiding tours of like minded solo-travellers on itineraries which can range from a Cape to Cape Walk to a food and wine experience in Italy or an adventure in South America.
“We ask our members for suggestions about favorite destinations they would like to visit when we have our monthly meet-ups at Sunbreakers in Mandurah. It’s about making travelling solo easy: we get a group of keen travellers together and go places,” says Annette.
Ken and Sue Westley owned Jetset Mandurah for 15 years and for the past two years have operated their travel agency under the new brand of Helloworld. They are pleased the business has been sold to another travel professional in Mandurah, and are looking forward to their well-earned retirement.
The travel business runs in the family with their daughter Lisa Cardew just completing 28 years as a travel consultant. For the past seven years, Lisa has worked here in Mandurah in her parents’ travel agency and now she is delighted to be is staying on as the newest consultant at Mandurah Travel & Cruise.
“We wish all our loyal clients bon voyage, and know their travel needs will be in good hands with Annette Porter and her team,” said Ken Westley.
