Travel with Me has gotten together with local tour company Luxury Outback Tours to offer you an amazing experience!
PUBLIC Silo Trail is putting regional Western Australia up in lights, bringing world-class murals to grain silos, transformer boxes and iconic infrastructure in unexpected towns right across the state.
Take art out of galleries. Make it far-flung. Monumental. Visible from remote highways and over treetops. Emblazon it in unexpected places. On CBH Group grain silos. Farming infrastructure. Make it art that tells a story- about a people or a place. A creative project transforming country infrastructure into sites of world class mural art. Over the past three years the PUBLIC Silo Trail project has created murals on grain silos in Northam, Ravensthorpe, Merredin, Albany, Newdegate and Pingrup, and on public walls and transformer boxes throughout Katanning.

Katanning Pingrup Newdegate Katanning
After breakfast we take a walk in town to visit Katanning FORM Murals. There are 8 Murals in different locations.

This morning visit the Katanning Saleyards the largest undercover sheep saleyards in the southern hemisphere. We take a private guided tour and watch the sheep auction.
On the PUBLIC Silos Art Trail we visit two towns east of Katanning, Pingrup and Newdegate to visit their grain silos that form part of the largescale art trail.
As part of the PUBLIC Silo Trail the Pingrup silos were the sixth and final mural to be painted as part of the trail in 2018. The designs by Miami based artist Evoca1 reflect the culture of the area with a farmer with lamb, a jockey and a kelpie on a tractor.
A scene drawing threads from the fabric of everyday life in Pingrup, Evoca1’s figurative depictions of the town’s iconic Pingrup races, its Merino sheep, its people, cattle dogs and even a tractor based precisely on one found on the main street of town, all tell a story about the character of the community.
Salt lakes, wildflower country, wheat and barley country. In May 2018, faced with a row of CBH silos high above his head, Perth artist Brenton See conquered his fear of heights to paint four huge murals which draw inspiration directly from the flora and fauna of the area. Brenton See also painted some of the murals in Katanning.
