Cape Naturaliste to Yallingup Beach – first part of the Cape to Cape walk

Wow I was blown away this past weekend after starting the famous Cape to Cape Walk. I am a Margaret River junkie and have made over twenty trips down there over as many years but this is the first time that I have ever looked at this beautiful walk.

We decided last year to put a small group together and take a short break away to do some of the Cape to Cape walk and also introduce some first timers to Margaret River. Our group heads down there on the 18th October and we will cover close to 1/3 of the 135 km track which extends from Cape Naturaliste to Cape Leeuwin.

With the long weekend last weekend I decided to head down with my partner and make sure everything is ready for us when Travel with Me head down in a couple of weeks. We did the very first part of the walk which starts at the Lighthouse at Cape Naturaliste and finishes at Yallingup Beach. It was magnificent with all the wildflowers out and the first 3 kms is an easy walk with sealed surfaces all the way to Sugarloaf Rock. The total distance for the day was 14 kms.

We had the most amazing day and the scenery really was spectacular and considering it was a long weekend I was surprised to see hardly anyone on the track? Great for us but too many people are missing out on this extraordinary experience. I am planning more Cape Walks so stay tuned for some dates and get in quickly for the next ones.
